What should not be worn?

The PPE rules require that rings, wristwatches, earrings, bracelets, and other jewelry must not be worn if it's possible for it to come into contact with power driven machinery or electric circuitry.

Articles of jewelry and clothing such as watch bands, bracelets, rings, key chains, necklaces, metalized aprons, cloth with conductive thread, or metal headgear shall not be worn if there is a possibility of contacting exposed energized parts. However, such articles may be worn if they are rendered nonconductive by covering, wrapping, or other insulating means (29 CFR 1910.333(c)(8)).
